Assistant Coach, Drexel University

Drexel Mert '67 and Joanne '69 Hill Head Coach of Wrestling Matt Azevedo announced the hiring of Mauro Correnti as an assistant coach for the Drexel wrestling team on Monday morning.

"I am very excited for Mauro to join our staff," Azevedo said. "He has a passion for coaching that you can feel and see in how hard he works for his athletes. I look forward to working with Mauro, I know he will add so much value to our program, especially the upper weights."

The Delran, N.J. native spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Hofstra, primarily working with the upper weights. During his time with the Pride, he helped coach three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships. Correnti won 61 matches in his career as a heavyweight with the Broncs, and placed third at the 2016 and 2017 Eastern Wrestling League Championships.
